Being Careful Not To Jump To Conclusions

Being Careful Not To Jump To Conclusions

God’s word is forever settled, it’s clear, it doesn’t change. When we read the word it says, to rightly divide the word of God, that there is no private interpretation, and that the Holy Ghost will lead us into all truth. That being said, if our heart isn’t right, we can read it with blinded eyes,  offenses, and our own ideas. We need to be careful not to jump to conclusions, to look at it with a heart that is open, and ears to hear. Being willing to let the Lord do surgery so we can receive the word and let God change us so we don’t miss what he is saying.

Misconceptions

Misconceptions can lead to false ideas, doctrine we create, and suspicions. When talking about the word, we have to believe and know it is true. Asking for revelation of God’s word and then taking God at His word. If we have misconceptions of what God is saying we could fall into deception. So we need to look at His word with a prayerful heart, believing the whole word. They are not just stories.

Bible Stories

I often hear people refer to the events of the bible as bible stories. They say Noahs ark, David and the giant, Jonah and the whale are just stories, more like fables. But the word of God is true. If you know that the word is true, and you believe God wouldn’t lie, then you have a sure foundation. You can use the word as a shield, or to move mountains. This takes faith.

Faith

You have faith in something, either faith that God is true, or that you have faith in something else. You will always have a belief in one thing or another. When you have faith in God, you can speak His name, His word, and know there will be a supernatural transaction. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. Faith in the word of God helps you to not jump to conclusions.

In Life

We can walk around jumping to conclusions if we aren’t careful. Or, we can believe a lie, and disregard what we know to be true. We can see life, friends, co-workers, our church through dirty glasses that we put on. There could be a smudge that can dim our view, and we think something is distorted, when really it is the glasses we choose to put on, were dirty. We need to pray that God helps us to clean our hearts, and ask him to restore our views of those around us. Especially in marriage.

Marriage

In marriage, you need faith in God and your spouse. It’s being able to trust them, that what you believe and know about them is real. When you loose faith in your marriage, you then can jump to conclusions. You can see or believe things that aren’t really there. You can become suspicious and wonder what they are really doing, or if they really love you. But using the word of God we can learn to think on what is true.

Speaking Life

Speaking the word, is speaking life!! Marriage can be hard enough at times without all of the questions of your mind. Your thoughts and emotions can lie to you, and then you can jump to conclusions. So we go to the word, and speak it. Whatsoever things are true… Yes, there are times that things can go wrong in a marriage, betrayal, lies, addictions, but when these things aren’t present, even if they have been in the past, we can speak the word and the atmosphere changes. We can’t be deceived, we need to pray and speak life.

Scriptures

Monday: Psalms 119:89 says, “For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.” God’s word doesn’t change. Praying not to jump to conclusions but to know Gods word is true.

Tuesday: 2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” Praying we believe and know the word of God is true.

Wednesday: Romans 3:4 says, “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar;” The word of God is our solid foundation. Praying today you know and believe the word of God in full.

Thursday: 1 Corinthians 2:5 says, “That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” We need to put our faith in God, not the wisdom of men. Praying to put God above all things.

Friday: 1 Corinthians 13:12 says, “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.” Pray God helps you to see clearly what is true.

Saturday: Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Pray and learn this scripture.

Sunday: Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Pray to speak life no matter what you are seeing or even imagining.

Prayer

Our prayer for you today is to stand on a solid foundation, to speak the word and speak life! You can jump to conclusions and it can be detrimental to your marriage. IF you believe lies, you can act on it, and tear down what God has blessed. Praying for peace in your mind, in your home, and in your marriage. Think on what is true, and know God is for you and your marriage!! In Jesus name!!
