Heart Condition
What’s The Condition Of Your Heart?
When we think of our heart condition, we think of how healthy our physical heart is. Could we be at risk for a heart attack? High Blood Pressure? Maybe a Stroke? If we think something is wrong many of us will make our way immediately to the E.R., or possibly our family physician. Some would ignore it and just keep going, pushing ourselves to win at this thing called life, and push sickness or the idea that something may be wrong to the back of our minds. But when things are out of control in your body and it starts to shut down, you listen. What about your spiritual heart?

Spiritual Heart
My heart condition, the word of God says, “Who can know it?” That it is “desperately wicked.” Our spiritual heart needs to be examined from day to day. It is something we need to push forward on our plate, and take a good look at what we are consuming. Is our diet that of the word of God, or is it full of things that aren’t pleasing to God? We need to look at the spiritual health of our heart.
Marriage Matters
Marriage Matters of the heart is something people tend to ignore as well! They may think it will just get better with time, or that it’s really not that bad. We get busy creating a life we want. Sometimes ignoring what’s most important. Our marriage! When we think about the heart of our marriage, we need to make sure it’s working properly, that it has a good rhythm, that it’s getting enough nutrients(blood), that it’s in sync with the other parts of the body, or our lives, or one day we could wake up to a full blown emergency!
Emergency Care
I’ve heard it said if you wait until the word divorce is mentioned, you are too late. A lot of people who may not be paying attention to or taking care of their health end up on an operating table having open heart surgery. They didn’t expect it, they didn’t plan for it, and cost is unfathomable. They may not even make it. Emergency care is not preventive. It is a last resort. Now I do know the God of creation can restore any heart! But the unnecessary pain, pressure, and scars it leaves will be apart of them forever!
Preventive Care
This is the hard part, the preventive care! We like to indulge our flesh, our appetites and our stomaches with anything that satisfies. God has been dealing with us to get healthy. We are intentional in all the other areas that are important, but because of schedules, parties, and frankly it’s more of a way to celebrate, we are not intentional and consistent with our health, having order in other areas, but not with our bodies. My husband and I have done diets over the years but are realizing we don’t want to end up on an operating table at 45, 55, 65, etc. We need to move with the same passion as we do our marriage, or marriage may end early.
Marriage Care
We have to be preventive in all areas of our life, especially marriage, to invest time, money, energy, intentionality, and knowledge into our marriage! Don’t put it on hold til everything else settles down, til the kids are raised, til we have our career, til we are out of debt, the list goes on and on. We must act now, and look at our heart condition when it comes to our marriage. We must have preventive care, and spend time building a marriage that will stand in any storm of life, sickness, death, even times of personal challenges.
God Care
Search me oh God! Search my heart, my life, and see if their be any wickedness, unforgiveness, bitterness, any unhealthy attitudes and even unhealthy living choices. Everything we consume, physically and spiritually affects our heart, and therefore our body, our walk with God, and our relationship in our marriage, and with our children. We must go first to God in prayer, repent, have a little surgery, and then have balance in other areas. If we want a healthy marriage we must first have a healthy heart, both spiritually and physically, and allow God to have His way while He cares for us, so we will be vibrant, full of life, love, hope, and vitality in our marriages and lives!
Prayer
Our prayer for you today is a healthy, blessed marriage! To be aware of your heart condition, your ‘marriage’ heart condition, and your ‘walk with God’ heart condition! To act on what you see and make changes daily to work towards a healthy heart!! We can all start making small changes each day to see results! Be intentional, and don’t ignore signs that things aren’t right. Make healthy choices in all areas of your life! To live a long life, to have eternal life, and to have a happily ever married marriage!
Scriptures
Monday: Proverbs 29:1 says, “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.” Praying today you can hear what the Lord is asking to change in you for the health of heart! He has our remedy!
Tuesday: Jeremiah 17:9 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Pray today God helps you to examine your heart and allow Him to show you!
Wednesday: Proverbs 14:30 says, “A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.” We have to be healthy to have peace, physically and spiritually, and that affects our marriage too!
Thursday: Ezekiel 36:26 says, “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” No matter where you are in life, how many times you have messed up, you can go to the “Great Physician,” and He can give you a new heart!
Friday: Psalm 51:10 says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” Preventative care is praying this scripture each day, then as our Lord whispers sweetly in our ear things He wants us to change, we act!
Saturday: Luke 11:28 says, “But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” When we obey the word of God we are blessed in all areas for the health of our marriage, and life!!
Sunday: Jeremiah 17:10 says, “I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” Pray God search your heart today and let Him have His way so that you can have good fruit in your life!
