Intentional Love
Whisper
When you find that you and your love are sitting next to one another in public place and you want to be intimate, you may make your voice intentionally quite and whisper something in their ear. You want to share a detail, a loving compliment, and you do it with a whisper. All of the surrounding voices are drowned out by that whisper, because your focus changes and you are drawn to the intentional love of your spouse. You want to hear what they have to say more than anyone else present.

Intimate Moments
How often do you and your spouse have intimate moments? There has to be trust, communication, love, and a desire to be intimate. If your relationship has soured, has distrust, communication is null and void, or desire is far from your mind, this my friend is for you. If you love is good but you desire to go deeper in your relationship with your spouse this is for you! Intimate moments don’t come by happenstance, they come with intention. You have to be intentional with every detail.
It’s In The Details
You think back to the day you got married and everything had to be just perfect. Your bouquet, your dress, the cake, the venue, the tux, and all the little details in between. You took such time, care, and love to make that day special and to be remembered. What are you doing today to make the same thing happen? Do you spend time thinking about how you can make today special?
Busy
I know we all get busy and hurry through our day. We have a list of things to do, places to go, people to see, work to accomplish. Where has the time gone to stop and smell the roses, to hear the sound of nature around you? We get so busy, we have a to do list, and get going on it. I understand, I have a never ending list, and I love lists!! But, I am learning to start my day with being intentional not to miss the moment!
Moments
We just had Memorial Day, I wanted to get a project done, and had some other things I wanted to do as well. Saturday I wanted get going early and go to some stores, I had ideas about how the weekend should look! God laid on my heart not to miss the moments. Saturday after a long work week of hustle and bustle, I wanted to hurry read our word, pray, and get going. God had other plans, nudged my heart, and showed me how my husband is right here with me on our back porch, reading our word together, and that he doesn’t usually get to do that in the mornings because of work. I slowed down, didn’t rush us and just enjoyed that time. Because I listened, I did’nt miss the moment.
Quiet Moments
Memorial Day I had plans, my to do list, and things I wanted to mark off. God again nudged my heart and said, enjoy the quiet moments and find the intimacy I am giving to you and your husband. I had to be intentional, stop, slow down, and just be together in the quiet moments. We still did my project of painting a chair I have for our back porch! We still did all the things we wanted to do this last weekend, and we did it with intimacy instead of pressure. Quiet moments of just being still, being together, and drawing closer to one another.
Our Start
How did we start these days of being intentional to be intimate? How did we get to a place of intentional love? We did so by being intentional with our love for God. Intimacy started with our intimacy in time alone with the Lover of our soul. Listening for that whisper with the one whom my soul loves! He longs to be with us, and He is always intentional. As we spend time with Jesus He will come along side us and teach us to be like Him! We do this by putting Him first, slowing down, and being intentional with Jesus. Pray, fast, worship, reading His word. It’s simple yet hard. Our flesh fights this, but when you start to see yourself rushing through time with Him, it’s time to reassess. Start over today and be intentional with your love for God!!
Prayer
Our prayer for you is that you slow down this week, reassess where you are today in your walk with the Lord, and your spouse. Stop, and start anew!! You can start over today, this moment. Don’t miss any more opportunities, and be intentional with your love.
Scriptures
Monday: 1 Kings 19:12 says, “And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.” Elijah was looking to hear from the Lord in the great acts of God, but instead found that intimate moment with Him in the still small voice, a whisper. Your intimacy will come with a whisper!
Tuesday: 1 Corinthians 13:1 says, “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.” Love is about intimacy and not sounding brass. We have to be intentional with our words.
Wednesday: Proverbs 4:23 says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Being intentional with our love is in the details of life and start with our hearts. Pray over this scripture today!
Thursday: Mark 4:19 says, “And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.” Being busy can choke out the word in our lives and in turn kill our relationship with God and our spouse. Start today with the word!
Friday: Psalm 25:4 says, “Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.” Help me Lord to listen to you as you speak each day to not miss the important moments in my marriage. Pray this today!
Saturday: Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Don’t miss the quiet moments God has prepared for you and your spouse. To everything there is a season!
Sunday: Matthew 11:29-30 says, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” When we take up His yoke we walk beside and learn from Him. We find rest and learn to be intentional with our love.
