Ministry Minded

Us

Let me start by saying this isn't for everyone, but it might be for you!! This is about us! My husband and I both had a call to ministry before we ever met. The word says, "He knew us before we were formed in the womb," so I know God knew before He created us what our calling would be! For this moment in time, for the ministry He has for us! He knew that we would become us and become one!! He set our paths, and no matter what road we traveled we ended up together.

Past

We all have a past, we all have skeletons in the closet so to speak. This doesn't stop God from using us!! Thank you Jesus for your mercy!! He knows our end from our beginning, and He still looks at us and says, I can use them! They are willing!! I saw a new meme the other day and it said, "God has a tendency of picking up a nobody, to become a somebody, in front of everybody, without asking anybody!" I love this because others can quickly disqualify someone based on their past. We can do the same thing. We have to be so careful not to judge how someone is being used. If God can use a donkey, He can use any of us!

Present

Where are you today? Is it where you thought you would be? I know most don't think they are where they should be. Stop worrying my friend!!! IF God wanted you somewhere else, He would have put you there. He is amazing at ordering our steps if we let Him. Today, look at what you can do, as an individual and as a couple. How can you plan and be Ministry Minded? Your actions today will affect what you can do for the Lord later. You have to put your past behind you as you repent, but you also have to be careful today, as you live with integrity, and walk in the newness of life God has given you!

Future

Where are you headed? The future of your marriage in ministry starts today!! If you are walking in a direction you want to go and start to look in a different direction you will start to veer off the way you are looking. My friend, God has a plan and we must start today to see it happen. When you look at your day does it include anything that resmebles the ministry God has for you? Is this a consistent discipline? You and your spouse must come together and set some priorities based on what you want your future to look like, and then take action.

Action

Action is hard for some people as they don't know where to start, or they are afraid they will mess up! We have learned it is better to start something then figure it all out before we do, because if we wait on everything to be perfect we will never take action. God isn't looking for perfection, because we aren't perfect, He is looking for couples who are willing!! Trustworthy, faithful, and willing to say, "Yes!"

Yes

We always want to have a yes on our lips for God!! It is so important to give Him our all in all we do! Sometimes we don't understand why He may ask us to do certain things, and then we question if it was God. The truth is if you have a relationship with Him and are led by Him then you will know His voice and it will be confirmed by your Pastor. I know over this last year we have been really challenged to do some things we don't understand, and maybe others around us don't either. But with the approval of our Pastor and stepping out in faith we are seeing God do miracles!!!

Miracles

Our heart has been, and still is to reach a lost and dying world. We love to serve, we love people, and we love to help in any way we can in the kingdom of God! Through different avenues and doors God has opened up, we are seeing miracles!! We have a huge heart for missions and so many doors are opening up there!! We always want to be seen as who we are. I will tell you in ministry that doesn't always happen, people can misjudge you before they really know you. That doesn't stop or forfeit the promises and miracles of God!! This just causes a deeper walk with Jesus!! We know who we are, and that has taken years, and we are thankful that we are walking in His promises!!!!

Scripture

Monday: Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” God knew your purpose before He created you, trust Him with the results!

Tuesday: 1 Corinthians 1:27 says, "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;" I'm so glad God looked past my faults and decided to use my life for His glory anyway!!

Sunday: Isaiah 49:1 says, "Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The Lord hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name." He knows the call on your life!! He is willing are you?
