Re-Post: Wisdom From A Mother

Prophecy

Chapter 1 of Proverbs 31 of the bible, we hear about a prophecy that King Lemuels mother taught him. This word was wisdom from heaven! From a mother to her son, it relays who he should marry, what kind of woman she should be, what kind of man he should become, and how he would be blessed along with their children.

Mother’s Day

We just celebrated Mothers Day this past Sunday, and hopefully you got to see your mother, and/or your children. Mother’s Day is such a special day to many who have the blessing of children in their home. For some it is a day of pain and sorrow, and others a day like any other day. But for all of you who are married, whether you have children or not, you do have a mother, and if you are reading this you are most likely married. This is a blessing of wisdom for your marriage!

Women Of God

This inspired word of God is a great example of how we as wives should portray our lives. We should read this passage in Proverbs and work towards this in our daily routines! Knowing, to be a great mother, you must first be a great wife! Order is always at the forefront of God’s direction for our lives and marriages.

For The Children

If you have sons, teach them this word, example it, and put it in their hearts to be a good man! Loving, faithful, and one that serves the Lord! Having daughters, teach them this word, example it in your marriage, and put it in their hearts to be a woman of God! Loving, and following all that is set before them in this scripture, and to pray for a man that is given to us in this passage!

Making Marriage Work

Proverbs 31 is a great outline of how to make a marriage work, to have a blessed home, and to set boundaries in marriage! We all have roles to partake of in our home, men, women, and children! We can look at each role and see what we need to work on. We will never be perfect, we will always need to grow, but we can use this as a guide in making our marriage work!

Praying For Your Marriage

When you read what your spouse should be doing, don’t automatically think or say, “Wow! They should be doing this or that!” A heart of a loving spouse will look at this and begin to pray for their spouse! Praying to be the kind of husband or wife that they are called to be by God. Pray for your spouse daily, for your marriage, for protection, and for love to flourish!

Faithfulness

When I read this portion of scripture, I see a mother who inspired by the Lord! She shared with her son how to be faithful, and to search out a woman who is faithful! We have a God who is so faithful to us, and in turn we first need to learn to be faithful to Him! As we are faithful to Jesus, we can then be faithful to our spouse, marriage and children!!

Prayer

We are praying for you today that you read through Proverbs 31 with a clean heart! Having fresh eyes, and a willingness to work on yourself and marriage! Praying God will help with any past hurts, to establish and maintain order in your home! Seeing your life and marriage bloom into a wonderful garden of blessings!!
