Stepping Into 2019

Last Day Of The Year

For the last week we have been reflecting on what God has done, all that has happened, and the many blessings of 2018! We also have been talking about what our goals and plans are for the next year. Today is the last day of the year and as we begin to write all of them down, we are prayerfully looking to the future. In prayer this last week God has placed things in our heart to move toward in our personal walk, as well as for the ministries we are involved in.

It All Starts Here

Prayer is one of the most important parts of how we find out what our goals are to be. We are not our own so we don’t just plan for tomorrow. We ask the Lord to order our steps, then we stop and listen. He is still speaking today. This is one of our favorite times of the year as we begin to fast as a corporate body of believers for the month of January, but along with abstaining from food and other distractions we must pray! If the Lord wills what shall we do tomorrow or the next year?

Order Our Steps

Our prayer is for the Lord to order our steps! We need His wisdom, direction, favor, and blessing. IF man build the something and God is not in it, it is in vain. So to be blessed, we must first seek the Lord for what He would have us to do. This is an adventure that can change everyday! Nothing is more exciting than living for the Lord… although, this means we will walk by faith and not by sight. We can plan, but if we don’t allow the Lord to direct us, we will under plan. When we get in prayer and God speaks what He will do, it can be very challenging.

Greater

When God asks something of His servant, He doesn’t ask Him to do something that man, woman, or a couple is able to do on their own. No, He asks what we consider impossible, or scary, or something we feel we are incapable of. He asks us to believe that He can use us for the greater…

Not Many Worthy

When God orders your steps, and calls you to do something for Him, His kingdom, or even in leading your family, He asks more than you think you are worthy to do. He qualifies the called, not calls the qualified. We are stepping into 2019, a new year, new mercies, new possibilities, new dreams, maybe even some you thought were dead and gone. Believe God for the impossible! He spoke this to me at our Sunday night service of the last service of the year! What a service!!

What Is The Lord Showing You?

Get on your face before the Lord, pray, fast, seek Him while He may be found!! Get together with your spouse and talk about what the Lord is speaking, what He is leading you to do, and make sure it lines up with your Pastors vision for the church you attend. When it comes to ministry we don’t have a personal vision, we have our Pastors vision and then God shows us what we need to do to make that happen. You and your spouse can dream, and set goals that honor God together!

What Kind Of Goals

This is important! What Kind of Goals should you be setting? After seeking the Lord, make sure your goals aren’t just about you and your family. Yes, make sure you set goals for them, just be sure they aren’t all about pleasure: vacations, money, date night, family game night, etc. You need these, but you also need to think about what will grow your marriage and family spiritually. We are planning to pray specifically for several people each month that really need a miracle, also several missionaries of a country, bible studies and devotionals, learning scripture, disciplines of daily bible reading, weekly fasting, and prayer, to name a few!

Prayer

Our prayer for you today is that you will Step into 2019 with all the blessings that God has for you!! With prayer, fasting, and a leading of God for you and your marriage, and family!! Be sensitive, listen to what God is speaking, and then act upon it with all your heart! Praying you to be Happily Ever Married!!

Scriptures

Monday: Habakkuk 2:2 says, “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Praying today that you write down what God is putting in your heart for this next year!

Tuesday: James 4:14 says, “For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.” We always want to make plans, it’s fun and exciting, but the word reminds us to say with caution if it’s the Lords will! Praying today we hear Him and obey!

Wednesday: Psalms 127:1 says, “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” When God is in it, we are blessed! Pray today that God order your steps!!

Thursday: John 14:12 says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” When we believe God for greater, we see miracles! Pray you see miracles in your life, marriage, and family!

Friday: 1 Corinthians 1:26-27 says, “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;” It doesn’t matter who you are or who you have been, God can do the impossible with a surrendered life!!

Saturday: Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near:” Pray today, don’t wait until tomorrow! He is waiting right beside you, He is near to the brokenhearted! Call out to Him and He will answer and lead you in this New Year!

Sunday: Galatians 5:16 says, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” When we walk spirit led, we have the heart of God, and can move toward the best God has for us!! Set God sized goals this year and watch Him do the miraculous!!
