The Power of One

The Power of One

The Power of One… one moment, one promise, one miracle!!! God can do anything!! God is all knowing, all powerful, and everywhere at once! The word of God declares, He is One! This weekend as I prayed for what He was wanting me to talk about this week He spoke, “The power of one.” Sundays are always exciting at our church, you never know what God is going to do! He always speaks His word, inhabits the praises of His people, and is ready and waiting for us to come hungry. He does miracles, heals physically, spiritually, and emotionally. What I mean by saying you never know what He will do, is, HE loves to surprise us with what He will do this week personally in our lives.

One Moment

One moment can change the direction of your life, for the good or the bad. Marriage is supposed to be forever, although we can see things change in a moment depending on what we choose to do. Sometimes it’s not in our control, sometimes it’s just life. One moment, a spouse can pass, tragedy can strike, sickness can be pronounced, the word divorce can be uttered, a child can be born, a child could be lost, a home can be bought, a new career can be given, a move can be expected with life pulling you this way or that. One moment can bring many different changes. But God is always there to give us His word.

One Word

Proverbs 15:23 says, “A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!” One word can change your life, it can help you hold on, it can help you keep a good perspective, it can let you know God is right beside you. One word spoken in due season can cause a shift in the atmosphere. Life comes, hope is restored, and you can breathe again.

One Promise

Over the years we have been given many a promise from the Lord. We have seen God’s faithfulness in fulfilling these promises. God gives us many examples of people in the bible receiving a promise, He also give us the bible to read for promises that we can hold onto. We can speak them by faith and know He will do it because He cannot lie. The power of one promise is powerful and life changing. Has God given you a promise? Have you seen Him fulfill any? Are you still waiting on that one promise you long for? Don’t fret, He will do it!! He is faithful who promised!!

One Miracle

One miracle can turn the whole trajectory of your marriage, family, and legacy! Faith is the evidence of things not seen!! You have to have a need, to see a miracle! How often do we think, “we have this”? How often do we think, “we can figure this out”? We need Jesus to work in our lives, to put us on the potters wheel, to be an ever present help in our time of need. When we put Him at the center, we will see miracles! And one miracle can change everything!!!

Becoming One

All of these things show us the power of one!! Jesus said “my Father and I are one.” When we get in church we become a part with the body of Christ. When we get married we are to become one with our spouse. It takes work, sacrifice, admitting your wrong, saying I’m sorry, working together, and becoming one. When you can learn to become one, you will see the Power of the One! You will be a powerful couple who can face the world, any problem, any sickness, trial, or tragedy together. Your marriage will be unstoppable!!! You will look the devil straight in the face and say, “Not today satan!!” You will see Jesus move on your behalf and how the power of the One true God can change any situation!! Amen!!

One

We must keep order, as we see the power of one come to pass in our lives. If we get out of order there may be power, but not blessing. We have to give our whole selves to the Lord first. There is One Lord, One faith, and One baptism. We can give ourselves to the Lord by repenting of our sins, being baptized in Jesus name, the only saving name, and the the Lord promises to give us His Spirit. One promise can change you forever. Years ago, I prayed, repented, and asked God to change my life.

My Moment

My moment came while I was sitting in a little country church that my dad and step-mom go to, I had told the Lord a couple of weeks prior, “Lord if you can use my life, make it have meaning, I’m yours, I will do whatever you want!” A few weeks later, I felt lighter because I had repented, I didn’t have to lie anymore, live a double life! I was joking with the Pastor before the service started, and as I sat next to my dad, I felt a heaviness come over me, I lifted my hands, and God filled me with His Spirit, as I started speaking in other tongues. I went down front crying as I continued to pray in that heavenly language and fell on my face and was there til after the service. God changed years of destructive behaviors, addictions, and a lost life in one moment!! My moment!! Thank you Jesus!! I still have to give myself to Him daily, but that moment changed everything!!

My Forever Moment

The day I married the love of my life, my wonderful husband Brent, was my forever moment. I stood before God, my family, and friends and took a vow to love, cherish, honor, and be faithful to my husband. No matter what may come, I am his, and he is mine. There are times over the years we could have said, “this is too hard”, “I don’t want to do this anymore”. But we choose to love, forgive, and become one. To take one moment at a time, and face the outside attacks that came our way. He is my forever moment. I will love Brent through any trial, because I made a covenant with God and my husband. We have learned and are learning the power of one!

Scriptures

Monday:  James 2:19 says, ” Thou believes that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. Pray today on this scripture and understand we are blessed to know our God is one! This is a foundation to knowing Him!!

Tuesday: Proverbs 15:23 says, “A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!” With one word we can hold on to the promises God has given us, when it is our time, it is good to receive that word!! Pray God help you to be patient for your word in due season.

Wednesday:  Proverbs 25:11 says, “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.” God is so good at speaking a word through someone at the perfect time! It’s beautiful like a picture!! Pray today your words are His and bless someone else, your spouse or your children.

Thursday:  Hebrews 6:15 says, “And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” Pray as you meditate on this scripture that you patiently endure, the result was we obtain the promise!! We just have to hold on, one promise can change everything.

Friday:  John 10:30 says, “I and my Father are one.” We need to pray and ask God to reveal in our spirits the power of knowing God is one. Who He is. Thank you Jesus for Your revelation.

Saturday: Acts 2:38-39 says, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you  in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” This was my moment and it can be yours too!! We can have that one moment that changes everything in our lives, marriage and and to give to our children and our children’s children. Until Jesus comes back!! His promises are yea and Amen!!

Sunday:  Ephesians 5:31 says, “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall become one flesh.” This is a spiritual transaction!! Pray God help you to become one with your spouse!! Don’t miss the moment, the promise, the miracle or the power of one!

Prayer

My prayer for all who read this today, is that God would open your eyes to the power of one. For you to see the miracle in one moment, one promise, or one miracle! That you would look to Him, His word, and prayer and fasting for hope to hold on for the power of one. Praying you would see the power of the One who loves you and came to save you! That you would learn to want, desire, and act upon becoming one with your spouse. We have to change our view to see the blessings of letting go of control, and working together with our spouse instead of doing it ourselves. Thank you Jesus for couples who are investing in their marriage!! You can have a happilyevermarried too!!
