Timing Is Everything

Timing Is Everything

Have you ever heard the old adage, “Timing is everything?” It holds a lot of truth! The word of God is full of waiting… Waiting on the Lord to fulfill promises, to set His people free, to come back for His church, the list goes on and on. God’s timing may not be our timing.. But His timing is perfect! We can trust the God who created the universe, and made our tiniest cells, to know exactly when we need to have things in our life come to pass.

His Timing Is Perfect

God’s timing is perfect! We are a generation of excess, now, and time is money. We want what we want, and we want it now. Patience is not in most peoples vocabulary. If, you want to be successful in almost anything, it needs to be done fast, efficiently, and done last week! We don’t know the days of sitting on a porch, watching time go by. Long are the days when everything was closed on Sundays, people staying home most of the week at night, only to go out for some special thing. Now we have something planned almost every night of the week. God doesn’t work on our schedule though, and we hate to wait.

Patience Is A Virtue

We were taught a song as little toddlers, “Have patience, have patience, don’t be in such a hurry…” This song would be outdated today as we always seem to be in a hurry. What if we only did what God wanted us to do. We would still be busy, but we would have more patience, more time, and more love. We fill our lives with things, sports, activities, movies, media, etc. IF we cut off the fat, and only have room for the meat, we would see we would have more time for meaningful things, like our spouses and family. WE need patience to love, to give, and to be all God has asked us to be.

Timing In My Marriage

Timing is everything. We know there are seasons that we must go through, that we have to endure, so that we can grow. In our marriages, we need to realize, there is the same things. There are seasons, times, years, and months, that can be tough, or they can be great!! So we have to have patience, love, and understanding. Sometimes we go through this as a couple, and sometimes we see our spouse go through a season of their own. Even though we are one, we still have to grown individually. And we have to learn timing…

Timing Of When To Talk

If you are struggling with something in your marriage and you need to talk to your spouse, make sure the timing is right. Talking to soon, when they are busy, or in a bad mood, can cause a backlash of hurt feelings. We have learned over the years to wait, ask, and proceed with caution and love when discussing hard subjects. If it’s not the right time you can leave the conversation or argument, with feelings of hopelessness. You have to pray, make sure your heart is right, and make sure they are ready. This can help even when talking through the most difficult subjects.

Timing For Things

Sometimes, you are waiting for God’s perfect timing for things in your marriage. A job to open up, buying your first home, having your first child, getting new furniture, a new car, the list goes on and on. But the problem with all these things is timing. If you get it before your ready, it could ruin you, it could cause more harm than good, it could not be God’s perfect timing.

In The Wait

I don’t know about you… but my husband and I always seem to be, “in the wait.” We used to live lives where we decided when, how much, how often, where we would go, what we would do. We soon realized we aren’t the best judge of those things. We have made poor decisions when we didn’t pray, fast, and seek council. God ways are higher than our ways… He knows best. Now we seem to always be waiting… but God does things so much better than we ever could. Our lives are not our own, we were bought with a  price. We don’t like waiting, but we like to see miracles, and we like to know we can trust the Lord with our lives!

Scriptures

Monday: Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” As you learn this scripture, speak it when you are weary, knowing He is in control and has a perfect order!

Tuesday: 2 Peter 3:8 says, “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” This is a good scripture for our lives, so we can slow down, enjoy the now, and wait patiently.

Wednesday: Lamentations 3:25-26 says, “The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.” When you seek Him in the wait, you see the goodness of the Lord, all His blessings and miracles!

Thursday: Isaiah 40:31 says, “But they that what upon the Lord shall renew there strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”  As you wait today for timing, spend time meditating on this scripture, so you can be strengthened!

Friday: Ecclesiastes 3:7 says, “…a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.” Sometimes when you are waiting for that right moment to talk to your spouse, you can get overwhelmed with emotions and perceptions that aren’t reality. Pray God helps you learn when to keep silent and when to speak.

Saturday: Acts 1:7 says, “And He said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His own power.” I know this scripture is speaking of when Jesus would restore the kingdom, but it trancends time to say.. we won’t always know when God will do something, but we can rest assured He is faithful.

Sunday: Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, He hath made every thing beautiful in His time: also He hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God taketh from the beginning to the end.” This scripture sums up timing with the Lord… it is beautiful in His time! Pray for His time not yours today and to trust Him in the wait!

Prayer

Our prayer for you today, is that you learn to wait patiently on the Lord, that you trust Him with your lives, your marriage, and your family. That you would know timing is everything and God’s timing is perfect! That you would learn to find the right time to discuss the difficult conversations in your marriage, and for that matter in life. Praying you would be prayerful, consistent in the word, and fasting, to know and learn to speak in God’s timing not your own. To have a happilyevermarried!
