We Have Today

Today

Today is a new day, a new beginning, and a new start! It is fresh with possibilities, promises, and hope. Each new day is a blessing and a gift from God, and He said His mercies are new every morning! My husband and I are thankful each new day we get to start over. We start our day with thanking the Lord, the word, and prayer! This morning before my husband left, we prayed like we usually do, and then we hugged each other a little tighter. We know we have today. Today is a blank page.

Yesterday

Yesterday is over, it’s past, it’s gone, and their is nothing we can do to change it. We all have regrets, mistakes, and wishing we would have done this or that. There is much heartache in our yesterdays, but also we can try and live in the past victories too. My heart aches today for some who are hurting today, that had loss yesterday, or last week, or last year. I pray for those who’s “today” isn’t what they had expected, who find themselves in a new world without a loved one. We do need to remember and memorialize those we loved and love!

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is not here yet, with all the hopes and dreams of what is to come! It could be tomorrow is just another day we have to face as we go through a trial, a time we need to just get through. It is not promised, and it is not yet here to make the most of it. It’s a place of, not yet, maybes, and what if’s. Tomorrow is always on our minds as we live in today.

What Is In The Now

The right now of our lives is all we have! In our marriages we have the now! We have the ability to make the most of what we have right in front of us. The time we spend together, the memories we make, the moments we cherish, the dreams we dream together. The now is a place of time and circumstance. God has given us today, to love, to show affection, to adore, to embrace, to give our all. In marriage we have right now.

What Are We Doing With Today?

I know for us Mondays are crazy busy, after a wonderful weekend full of family time, events, and church. Monday is a day to get caught up, to start the list over, to start working again. It’s never good though, if we don’t start with the Lord. Sunday is our first day of the week. Monday is the day we keep our commitments of things we have promised, to each other, to God and to others. I want my today to count! Not to waste it on frivolous things, that steal my time. We in our marriage have to be about God’s business!

My Marriage

My marriage is the most important part of my life, second only to the Lord. Period. Next comes our children and family, then others and church. My marriage is a top priority and I have today. I have to be intentional about loving my husband, caring for him, serving him, taking time to see what he needs and doing my best to meet that need. We can all get caught up in the “doing.” The important thing is to make sure we are truly connecting and loving one another and with God’s purpose for His kingdom!

How Can I Get The Best

The best I can have from today comes from a consistent walk with the Lord, together. I can’t have a good today without Jesus. He is my Rock, My Refuge, My Strength, My Salvation, My Ever Present Help, He is My Provider, and He is My Comforter! I could go on and on, but if I want the best for today, I must keep my mind stayed on Thee, for He keeps me in perfect peace. I want an amazing marriage, and I have one, but to keep having it, I and we have to put Him first! We only have today, so remember to look at the one you love with adoring eyes, to hold them a little closer, to keep the fire burning and keep Jesus at the center of it all, because we are not promised tomorrow.

Prayer

Our prayer for you today is that you spend time together, you love, hold, embrace, kiss, say I love you with passion, that you communicate wants and needs, and that you do it today. Today is a treasure, it’s a blessing, and it is all we have. Today is time well spent, being intentional, and filling it with memories to always look back on fondly. It’s moments captured in the recesses of our minds of a wonderful marriage we make today.

Scriptures

Monday: Psalm 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Our days are numbered, but we must learn to keep track and have wisdom on how to use them.

Tuesday: John 10:10 says, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Praying today our loved ones.

Wednesday: Proverbs 27:1 says, “ Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” Pray you are aware of today and not always living for tomorrow.

Thursday: Proverbs 21:5 says, “The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.” Be diligent in your now with your spouse.

Friday: John 9:4 says, “I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.” Work together for today!

Saturday: 1 John 2:17 says, “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” Pray for your hearts to be kingdom minded!

Sunday: Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.” If we put Jesus first we will see the beauty in His timing and our marriage!
