His Love Never Fails

His Love Never Fails

His love never fails! We, in our marriage, can look at our spouse and loose sight of why we, ‘fell in love.” But Jesus’ love for us never fails. He doesn’t stop loving us when we fail, or when we say the wrong thing, if we lie, cheat, or do anything we think is horrible. His love never fails us. Nothing can separate us from His love. But we, who are human, don’t always think in these terms. We do fail each other, and we do choose if we love or not.

Our Love

Our love is fickle at times, it can be swayed by many different things. We know what is right, but if we are hurt, sometimes we choose to not love anymore. Or we say we “fell out of love,” but really we choose whether or not to love our spouse. In our marriages, we want to be loved, respected, adored, treated fairly, and affirmed. There is nothing wrong with wanting to feel safe in our marriages. We should feel safe! But sometimes we don’t give the same in return. We can be very selfish in our love. We can withhold, reject, treat them unfairly, and deny our love if we aren’t feeling up to it.

Desire

My desire is to love like the Lord, to not fail, to be steadfast, to honor, respect, and love my husband. I work on this daily, and am intentional with my words, my time, and my actions. I’m in no way, shape, or form, perfect at this!  I do fail, because I am human, and because we live in a fallen world. But I have worked on taking out of my vocabulary the phrase, “this is just who I am,” or “this is just my personality,” or even, “my family is all this way, so its just in my genes.” Desire pushes me past these excuses, and propels me toward victory in my marriage!

How Is This Accomplished

How is this accomplished? By taking steps each day in the right direction. To pray that we would see each other through the eyes of God. Praying for patience and desire to have the kind of marriage Jesus wants us to have! We need to be ready and quick to forgive, to put all the past behind us. This can be difficult if you have been deeply wounded, or betrayed, but I promise you there is a supernatural God, who can help you to have a supernatural healing take place if you are willing. Because His love never fails.

My Heart

My heart is heavy with all of the divorces, affairs, and easily left marriages. Especially when children are involved. The grass always looks greener on the other side, but divorce is not always the answer. I know God can heal any marriage! And yes, you can have a blessed blended family and remarriage. Although, it does come at a cost. Divorce is a curse, and you will never get away from all that entails. You can have blessing, joy, and peace, but you will never be completely free from the destruction of a divorce. It literally tears families apart. We can’t ever know all the damage it causes. So please, do your best to work it out!

The Other Side

The other side of the coin, the other yard, the other person. Yes, sadly when a marriage has gone south, we see to many, “fall” into the arms of another. The problem is that person has problems too. They may have different problems, worse problems, or more problems, that you probably won’t see at first. “Falling in love,” is just a temporary feeling, or high, that sweeps us off our feet. It’s not a lasting thing, so many people fall in and out of love all the time. There is no commitment, consistency, or lasting relationship. The “other person” is a fantasy, an idea, that takes you away from your current problems, and into different ones.

I Deserve Happiness

We hear this all the time from media, hollywood, the news, and marketing, “I deserve to be happy!” What makes us think we deserve anything, or to be happy? We are bombarded with this daily, ad after ad, what feels good, what makes your flesh happy, day after day. We are living in a society that now says pedophila is exceptable. Where do we draw the line. We don’t really deserve anything. The word of God is our line and if we follow the protection it sets up, we will have joy! We may not always be happy, but we will have peace. Our family will have peace, and our marriages will be better than we could ever have on our own.

Back To The Basics

His love will never fail us, He will always be right there waiting on us to turn toward Him in our greatest hour of need. If we will get back to the basics, follow the book, and pray, we will see more families stay together, become stronger, and the church thrive in revival!! We will see more homes kept than destroyed, more marriages be first marriages, and from there, flows blessings! We will always have divorce, as we live in a fallen world, but we, who know Jesus, have the power to overcome and have wonderful, godly marriages!

Fasting

If you are struggling in your marriage right now, and you don’t see a way for it to work, stop everything and fast. Fast, pray, and wait on the Lord. When we fast we die to ourselves, we see things clearer, as we push away our food. We get a different perspective, we lay down our ideas, and break, before the Living God! He won’t ignore a broken and contrite spirit!

I’ve Seen HIM Do It

I’ve come to far for anyone to tell me that God can’t mend a broken, disaster of a relationship! I have known to many people who’s marriages were destroyed by sin, lust, drugs, adultery, abuse, and looked hopeless, be completely restored, and better than before, by a God who does miracles!! I’ve seen Him do it!! He makes masterpieces out of shattered lives! Who are we to say it’s hopeless! If we will trust Jesus, put it in His hands, forgive, and follow His word, any marriage can be saved!

Scriptures

Monday: 1 Corinthians 13:8 says, “Charity(love)never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.” God’s unending love can never fail! Pray and meditate on the love of God today and ask Him to help you to love like He does!!

Tuesday: Romans 8:39 says, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Nothing can separate us from His love! Our love is not like His, so we must pray for us to have His love for our spouse because it’s a choice for us to love. God is love.

Wednesday: Psalms 86:5 says, “For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.” Oh Lord, that this would be our prayer, and that we would see your example and be quick and ready to forgive, plenteous in mercy.

Thursday: Matthew 5:28 says, “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” Pray over this scripture and pray we wouldn’t even look at another. It starts with looking with lust, and ends in destruction. Pray God keep your heart and eyes.

Friday: Acts 20:24 says, “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Pray God help you to be fully committed, unmoveable, in your walk and marriage, as we are examples to the world of Jesus and the church! Not frustrating the Grace of God. Blessing will flow out of a marriage that won’t give up!

Saturday: Psalms 51:17 says, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” When we are broken and real before God, and we cry out to Him in our need, He won’t ignore us. He will reach out to us in our time of need, and is ready and waiting to Help us!

Sunday: Romans 15:13 says, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” This scripture sums up what God gives to those filled with the Holy Ghost! He is the God of hope, joy, and peace, as we believe! We even abound in hope, because we who have received His Spirit, can see God move in our lives with power! He can break any chain around your neck, any addiction, and mend any broken home!!
