Hope For My Marriage

Hope Gone

Have you ever been in a place in life or your marriage and thought all hope is gone? Sadly, many may feel a twinge of pain as they read this. It’s so prevalent in today’s world that we give up hope. What do you do when Hope seems lost? Where do we turn for hope? What do we believe?

Feelings

Sometimes we are deceived by our feelings. Our feelings lie to us and give us a false reality. We feel like nothing will change, nothing will get better, that we are stuck. The good news is these are just feelings!! There is always hope!

Real Talk

Marriage isn’t always a walk in the park, holding hands, and laughing. It’s work! There are bad days, hard times, and moments you wish never came. We are born selfish and we have to grow and learn to let go of pride and self, to truly love another human being.

Definition

Hope in the Bible is often a looking for, waiting for, and desiring a certain thing. To look expectantly!! When we are talking about saving our marriage, or seeing something change for the better in it, we are hoping for a desired outcome! The thing we have trouble with is the looking expectantly!!

Looking Expectantly

This is all about trusting God and looking for that thing we desire with expectation!! To believe!! See it as done! To walk by faith and not by sight! The world says throw in the towel, and God says wait! When we look expectantly we are eagerly awaiting the desired outcome with anticipation! Like it is already ours!!

My Marriage Miracle

The problem with throwing in the towel is when we think our promise of restoration is dead and gone, God says,”Here comes your miracle!” We have to learn to trust the Lord with everything! Even our husband and children! He knows the end from the beginning! He also knows we need to be at a loss for Him to bring our win!! Too many people quit before they see the miracle! In marriage there is a lifetime of waiting, trusting, and forgiving! If we could just see what He sees, we would wait with hope!

Our Hope

Our hope is in the Lord! We need Jesus for any and every situation! On the good days and bad! He is our hope and our promise! Our marriage depends on Him being at the center of it!! Our family depends on us putting Him there! Those who know Jesus, wait expectantly for His return!! Let’s do the same in looking for Him to help us in our marriage. Not giving up as we are His representation of the Bridegroom and His bride to a world who doesn’t know Him!

Prayer

Praying today for you and your spouse that nothing comes between you and that you see there is hope for your marriage! Believe, pray, and see God move!

Scriptures

Monday: Proverbs 13:12 says, “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” When we are out of hope we feel sick inside. Praying today God restore your hope in your marriage!

Tuesday: 1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” We are to be sober, to not be carried away with our feelings because the devil wants to devour us, especially in marriage. Pray to be sober.

Wednesday: Ephesians 5:25 says, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,” Love is a choice and involves sacrifice. Praying today we grow in love and putting away self on the altar.

Thursday: Psalm 39:7 says, “And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.” When we find our hope in Jesus we are content to see Him bring it to pass.

Friday: Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” When we look expectantly, we are hoping with faith!! Pray today God increase your faith!

Saturday: Hebrews 11:11 says, “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.” When you know the Lord as Faithful, you will see your miracle in your marriage! Meditate today on all the ways God has been faithful to you and your spouse.

Sunday: Jeremiah 17:7 says, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.” We are blessed when we trust and put our hope in the Lord.
