Made For More

Made For More

You my friend were made for more!! More than you do, more than you know, more than you can imagine! So how do you ever fulfill the call on your life, reach your full potential, or change behaviors that have been set in place for years? You start by knowing the One who created you, and as you surrender to Him, and His will, you will start to see, this isn’t all there is! We are already in October, it’s fall, and Christmas will be here soon enough! What have you started this year that is a first for you?

Firsts

This has been a year of firsts for me personally, and for us as a married couple. When you want to grow, change, and see your full potential realized, you have to be willing to take a risk and have a first. First time for anything can be scary, but I’m not talking about jumping off a cliff to go skydiving, I’m talking about a first time doing something you want to do, that your not sure if you will be successful at it, so you are afraid to try. Let me tell you, it’s worth it! Why? Because you will grow that much closer to who God has called you to be!

Being Vulnerable

Stepping out by faith, taking a risk, and putting yourself out there is about being vulnerable! It’s not easy, and it takes work! You have to learn to not care what others think about you, if they like you, and what they may think. Life is too short!! I’ve wasted too many years trying to please others. It takes way too much energy, and when you start focusing on your goals instead of the people, you can’t please anyway, you see your dreams come to pass!

Married For More

Last week, we talked about teamwork makes the dream work! You and your spouse need to dream together, to make goals together, and have things you want to do in common. When you got married before the God of the universe, you decided to be committed to that person forever, to love them, to grow old with them. You cannot accomplish this if you are going in different directions. You were married for more!

Firsts Together

We have had many firsts together, but each year we have to grow, or we will be dying. We make new goals separately, but honestly, most are together! I do write most of the blogs, but my husband always checks them because we are a team in our marriage and in life. We have worked on growing and becoming one in mind, heart, and soul. This year we took on the Young Marrieds at our church, we do this as one, a team. We also, pray together, read our word together or separately and then talk about it. If we decide to do something we agree on it first. Keeping in mind my husband does have the final say, but he also trusts my advice and considers it if we don’t agree.

What Does God Want

What does God want for us? That is a good question for each of us as couples to ask. We need to pray, fast, and pray some more. Once we feel the leading of the Lord, He will give confirmations! But His word is clear, that He wants us to listen, obey, draw near to Him, walk with Him, love Him. So we need to do these things, as a couple, so it will give Him glory!

Being Made For More

Being made for more means pushing past what is comfortable, reaching for what seems impossible, and being willing to be stretched to do it! God has been working on us, He keeps wanting us to do more. This isn’t an overnight thing, we have been working on us for a long time, and each new year we set goals to be more consistent, learn more, read more, be more. Not at the cost of our relationship, but adding to our relationship.

The Details

We can go through life, work, play, eat, go to church, have a routine. But do we really know what’s in the details, or are we just on auto pilot? When we focus on the details, life becomes exciting! When you stop and smell the roses, you are truly seeing the magnificence of God! You see the beauty of each petal, the colors, the smell, the intricate details of Gods handiwork! I want to live, to truly know God, my husband, children, and those around me. This takes looking away from yourself and your problems, and looking at what can I do? How can I make this special? How can I treat a person, my marriage, each moment like its a masterpiece? Like it matters? Because it does.

Sacrifice

Doing this takes sacrifice, time, energy, love, and being intentional. My husband and I want to sacrifice for the kingdom of God, for all God has for us, even if it costs our lives. That is exactly what God desires. Our whole lives, our everything, our money,(which is His), our time, our passion, our trust, our all. The thing is, if you decide to go down this road, your needs will always be met, He will give you the desires of your heart,(because He put them there), you will be fulfilled, and will have peace and joy!

Bible Studies

Bible studies are life!! First, you are reading, speaking, and learning the word of God! Secondly, when you give a bible study, you are teaching someone how to live, to change their lives for the better, and to know the God who created them. We love teaching bible studies, and have been praying for them. God just opened up several doors for new bible studies, which is so exciting! It takes sacrifice, but the rewards are unbelievable! When you live a life surrendered to God, you get to live a life of miracles!

Miracles

When you pray, God moves! Trust Him, and see His passion, love, glory, and miracles!! Life no longer becomes mundane, and boring. It now becomes exciting, never knowing what God might and will do next!!! We have seen so many miracles. When I first got the Holy Ghost, I went to Africa. On the way there I was so excited about all the miracles I was going to see, having read the word, I was starting to know the God of the bible! I encountered a pastor of another denomination and was harshly told that miracles don’t happen anymore. I excitedly told him that I had already seen many miracles so I knew they still happened. Guess what? I saw many more miracles because I was open to all that God had for me!

What Does Your Made For More Look Like?

Start asking yourselves as a married couple what does made for more look like for us? What does God have for us? How can we do to start making steps toward those goals? What can I do today that is a small step in finding out about something I can start? Are we disciplining ourselves in other areas to grow? Do we read books? Do we study together the word of God? Pray together? What is something you have always wanted to do? What is stopping you? Make a list of pros and cons of your firsts together.

Scriptures

Monday: Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” He made us for more! Pray today we know He has an expected end for us!

Tuesday: Proverbs 2:6 says, “For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of His mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” As you meditate on this scripture know that when you read and grow in God you will grow closer to what the Lord has for you as you get wisdom and knowledge.

Wednesday: 2 Corinthians 5:7 says, “For we walk by faith, not by sight:” Pray that God helps you to put yourself out there to move towards the direction He is calling you! To be vulnerable.

Thursday: Proverbs 31:11 says, “The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.” Praying today you are a woman your husband can trust!

Friday: 1 Corinthians 4:2 says, “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” To do all the Lord has called us to do, we have to be faithful in the things He sets before us!! Pray today for faithfulness.

Saturday: Romans 12:1 says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Pray you learn to give all of yourselves to the Lord in all you do!!

Sunday:  1 Corinthians 2:9 says, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear hear, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” Miracles happen when we trust the God of the bible, pure and simple! Pray for trust to come into your heart today!

Prayer

Our prayer for you today is that this blog gets you dreaming again, to move in that direction, even if it’s just small steps! We pray you are one, and get excited about where God is taking you! That you would trust the leading of His hand.. to know He is ordering your steps, and surrender to it!
