Worship: The Heart Of Your Home

Worship: The Heart of Your Home

Worship: The heart of your home! We need the Lord to be present and reside in our home! We invite Him in with our praise and worship! Wanting Him to saturate every nook and cranny!

Remodeling/Renovations

Making your house a home takes some work! If you buy a fixer upper, or a brand new build, you have to put some personal touches to it to make it a home. We bought our home over a year ago and we had to do a lot of work just to make it livable. Had the help of my dad, my brother, and some other helpers to level the floor, patch, sand, and paint the walls. We had another young man put in our floors along with his helpers, and the carpet guys. My husband also did some of these renovations! We just got the last part of the carpet put in last month because we are paying cash. Still after all that, we have to have some finishing touches put on to finish the inside. This house has taken a lot of work, but it is beautiful to us, and we are thankful for the door God opened for us to purchase it!! God really blessed us!

Decor

We eventually started to add some decor! This is our first home so I pretty much knew our style, and that we like things to be uncluttered. But it took some time to figure out what goes where, and what we would put up on the walls. We were given a dining room set, curio cabinet, entry table and mirror. We prayed for a good deal on nice bookshelves as well, and were given a gorgeous set!! Like I said, we have learned to pay cash, so we don’t buy something unless we have the money upfront. When we have counted our chickens before they hatched..not had the cash up front, something always seems to happen. So we do our best to stick to this rule. The Lord really blessed us with some great gifts! As we started to decorate, we started to see our house become home. We were given some stools for our island eating area. I could go on and on! The great part is we prayed and God answered without us saying a word!

Cleanliness

“Cleanliness is next to godliness,” is not in the bible, but I do believe, to be a good steward of what God gives to us,(it’s all His anyway), we need to keep things clean. It keeps order in our home, makes being at home inviting, and makes our husband and family feel safe. A clean home makes us feel, whatever our status in life, that we can be faithful over what the Lord has blessed us with. A clean home is welcoming to all who enter, and one step closer to making a house a home. Keeping your house picked up throughout the day also helps with keeping a clean home! Otherwise, it can become overwhelming to have a clean house. We go through our house ever couple of months, to purge, the things we just don’t use or need. Another great saying to live by is “Everything has a place, and needs to be in it’s place.”

What’s Missing?

Family is needed to make a house a home. Your husband, your children, your “fur babies”, your parents. Family makes a house a home! I know not every home has that feel to it, no matter how many people live there. Maybe, something is still missing? Food, clothes, furniture, flooring, blankets, and all the other essentials make a house a home. What about heat, air-conditioning and water. hot water especially?  Well, some might disagree with this, as some of us remember just using fans, and some live with out running water in the home, some don’t have the perks of an American life, even some in American’s don’t have these. So what is still missing?

Worship Is The Key

You could have all kinds of blessings, abundance in every dream of a house you could ever want, and still not have a home. Worship is the heart of your home!! It’s the key that unlocks the door to your home! When we invite Jesus into every area of our lives, we will see blessings abound!! Whenever we have moved, we have anointed the house with oil and pray over our home! But we didn’t stop there, we started praying through it, in every room, on a regular basis. We kept saying, “Jesus this is Your home, it’s all Yours.” “You can have free reign in our house!” Our hearts will worship, praise, and pray with groanings which cannot be uttered. We create, with our worship, an atmosphere for God to dwell! To inhabit! We give the Lord an open door and a key to our hearts and home!

The Heart Of Your Home

The heart of your home isn’t the hearth room, the bedroom, the kitchen where you all gather, your favorite family room, or even a hobby room. The heart of your home, is worship pure and simple! You need to make the Lord, lord of your life and home. We will worship when we think about all He has done for us. We will NOT worship Him if we are ungrateful, complain, and just do what we want. Worship isn’t just singing, lifting our hands, worship, is the lifting of our hearts to Him. Not going into debt to keep up with the Jones’s, whoever they may be! The heart of your home is knowing the word, speaking, praying and living the word of God. When we put Him first, in all areas, we can have peace and safety. That to me is home. When I rise up I will praise and worship Him!! I will see the blessings around me, and I shall not want.  Learning to be content with such things as I have. I will rest in Him, and know this is Home….

Conclusion

No matter where you live, an apartment, a bungalow, a condo, a little cottage, a hut in Africa, a large family home, or a mansion, you need worship all throughout!! Worship of the one true God! Jesus is His name!! Speak it, call upon Him, shout with shouts of praise, worship and adore Him in all you do daily in your home, and you will see God move in, as you purge your home of things that don’t please Him. HE will show you if you are sincere in heart and ask! As we fill our home with Him, He will fill our lives with His blessings!

Scriptures

Monday: Luke 16:10 says, “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the  least is unjust also in much.” Pray the Lord help you keep your home clean, tidy, and are a good steward over wherever you may live!! It will make all the difference!!

Tuesday: Haggai 1:5-9, especially 5-6 says, “Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.” This scripture is talking about those who only invest in themselves, and not in the Lord or His house, so all they have is worthless and comes to nothing. Pray the Lord help you to not focus on things but rather focus on the One who gives all good things!! Worship in your home!!

Wednesday: Luke 11:24-26 says, “When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” Go through and pray and anoint your home with oil. If you don’t have worship, and the things of God filing your home something else will.  Protect your home and family, and fill it with Jesus.

Thursday: Psalm 63:1 says, “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirtieth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.” Meditate on this scripture and pray the Lord helps you to seek Him early, long for Him, worship Him, and see your home become a place flowing with the river of Life.

Friday: Psalm 100 Read this scripture aloud in your home!! Thank the Lord for His goodness!! This isn’t just for the house of God, but it can be for a place you call home!! Wherever we are we can worship and adore Him!!

Saturday: Matthew 22:37 says, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” This means we need to give every part of our lives to Jesus, and after that to our neighbor, so to me this speaks of doing this at our home!! As well as our church!

Sunday: Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Jesus isn’t just waiting to come into your church, He is waiting to be Lord of your life!! We do this by following the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, He gave Peter the keys, and on Pentecost we hear the answer. We must repent, be baptized in Jesus name, and he promised to fill us with the Holy Ghost! When we worship Him, we pour out ourselves so we can be filled with Him!! Our homes are where we spend a majority of the time, so why wouldn’t we worship in the place we dwell? Worship truly is the heart of our homes!! It’s what makes a house a home!! A place we can love, be loved, and have peace!!

Prayer

Our prayer for you this week is that you take a little step, start to pray each day a few mins in your home. Worship the Lord, love Him with praises, and create an atmosphere to welcome Him. If you already do these things, go deeper, spend more time with Him, and ask what He wants you to get rid of out of your life and home. Anoint your home if you haven’t. Know that as you consecrate yourself unto the Lord, you will start to see changes in your home. We pray you don’t just live day to day, but make each day count! Put Jesus first, and create a home that has worship at the heart!!
