When Things Get Tough
All marriages go through times that can be tough. What do you do when things in your marriage get tough? You get have to get a fight in your spirit! Sometimes, it can just be an argument that day, or it can be an ongoing feud, maybe its a subject you just can’t agree on. Those are the times we have to step back, look at the situation with fresh eyes, remember who you are really talking to. Your spouse. The love of your life, and know, the real enemy is the Devil.
Is It Really Spiritual?
Is it really spiritual? Yes. A resounding Yes! From the beginning of time the devil, the serpent, has tried to divide and conquer the marriage between a man and a woman. Yes, we have our human spirits that can be very stubborn, argumentative, and unforgiving. The truth of the matter is we can get into a lot of trouble when we have a bad attitude. We, who are spiritual, can step back and see this situation, no matter how big or small, can be resolved when we get spiritual..
Getting Spiritual
How do we get spiritual? We crucify our flesh, humble ourselves in prayer, cry out to the Lord, (He can handle it), and then quickly say we are sorry. I can’t begin to tell you how healing it is to say your sorry, even if you’re right, because you are mending your relationship. You are showing the love, grace, and mercy, God has given you. Fasting social media, etc, helps to free up our time to get in the word, into prayer, and see God move. Getting spiritual is a way to see things turn around quickly and to see wounds heal.
Quickly
The longer you let an argument go, an issue, a true problem in your marriage, the more damage you are doing. Do you need to be right, or do you want a marriage that lasts, that thrives, that is full of joy, forgiveness and hope?! Doing this quickly, resolving the disagreement, and letting go of the offense, and letting love rule in your home and marriage, is what cancels the attack of the enemy.
So How Do We Fight This Enemy?
We fight with the Whole Armor Of God, the sword of the Spirit, with passion, love, with a fight in our spirit! It’s easy to get so beat down in trials, but when we start to recognize their is an intruder in our home, one who has no place, we can fight with the weapons of our warfare. We can get into a warrior mode, and pray down wickedness in high places. We can kick him out.. the devil, that liar, the father of it. When we have strong homes and marriages, we will have a strong church, that the gates of hell can not prevail against!
Check Your Doors
If your home is blood bought by Jesus, if your marriage is given to God, and He is at the center, then when attacks come, check your doors, windows and any entrance that he could have come in through. What doors? Any where you have given him access. Your tv, computer, radio, phone, social media, any walls that have been lowered in you or your spouses daily routines. Even children can give access to the devil in your home. Your eyes, ears, body, and spirit. What have you let down your guard on?
How Do We Repair It?
Recognize what is sin in your home and lives, and REPENT. Get rid of anything that could be causing an open door. When we have prayed through homes we are usually drawn by the Spirt of God to something that has to do with witchcraft, seduction, violence, drugs, things that God is not pleased with. Clean it up, put restrictions on what is accessible through the web, any relationships, chats, throw out any books, movies, or music that is not pleasing to God. When we get a fight in our spirit to pray, fast, and war against the real enemy of our marriage, we will see peace reign in our home!!
Prayer
Our prayer for you today is to learn to walk in love in your marriage, to see with eyes of faith, and to get a fight in your spirit, against the real enemy of your marriage! We must grow in, glean from, and study Gods word to know what He desires for our marriage. Only in doing so, can we wreck havoc in the Spirit realm, so we can have peace in our marriage and home!! Put on the Whole Armor Of God and Stand, knowing that God will help us as we pray and win the battle!
Scriptures
Monday: 1 Peter 4:8 says, “And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.” Love. It covers a multitude of sins in your life and marriage! Show great love to your spouse today and fight the real battle, get a fight in you for the enemy of your souls! War against the devil!
Tuesday: Genesis 3:1-5 says, “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LordGod had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Since the beginning, the devil has tried to break up the marriage with the lusts of this world.
Wednesday: Ephesians 5:16-17 says, “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” Pray God helps you to crucify your flesh!
Thursday: Colossians 3:13 says, “Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.” Forgive your spouse quickly and ask for forgiveness quickly.
Friday: Ephesians 6:11-18 says, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” Learn and pray over this scripture!
Saturday: James 1:12 says, “Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” Temptations will come, but we can endure and turn away from these with the power of God to help us.
Sunday: Isaiah 58:12 says, “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.” When you repair that which is broken down in your home and marriage, you build a foundation for many generations to come!
